MINISFORUM UM890 Pro mini PC with Ryzen 9 8945HS launches globally for $479 and up

The MINISFORUM UM890 Pro is a compact desktop computer powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor that supports up to 96GB of DDR5 memory and up to two PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs. It also offers extensive I/O options with a wide range of ports including two 2.5GbE Ethernet ports, two USB4 ports supporting 40 Gbps data transfer speeds, and a 63 Gbps OCuLink port.

The MINISFORUM UM890 Pro was first released in China earlier this month and is now available for preorder in the US for $479+. Shipments are expected to begin at the end of July.

The starting price is for a barebone model without memory, storage or operating system, but MINISFORUM is also accepting orders for configurations with a 1TB SSD and 32GB or 64GB RAM for $649 and $729 respectively.

Each model is powered by AMD's Ryzen 9 8945HS processor, a 35-54 watt chip with eight Zen 4 CPU cores and 16 threads supporting speeds up to 5.2GHz and featuring integrated Radeon 780M graphics with 12 RDNA 3 GPU cores. There's also a Ryzen AI Neural Processing Unit with up to 16 TOPS of AI performance.

The chassis has two SODIMM slots for memory, each supporting up to 48GB of DDR5-5600 memory, and two M.2 2280 slots for PCIe 4.0 SSDs. There's also an M.2 2230 slot fitted with a wireless card that supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

MINISFORUM says the computer can support up to four displays and is small enough to be mounted on a wall or display using a VESA mounting kit.
