AGM H Max Design

With IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H certifications, the AGM H Max is designed to endure the harshest conditions. From water and dust to drops and extreme temperatures, the H Max can handle it all, making it the perfect companion for your rugged lifestyle. More specifically, the model can survive drops on its front, back, sides, corners, and edges from up to 1.5 meters on concrete and even more on other surfaces. Being entirely waterproof, the H Max resists soaking in mud, water, and accidental liquid spills. It also blocks 99% of dust, cement, or powders. All this turns the smartphone into a durable and reliable tool for entertainment, working, and communication in demanding environments.

The H Max builds upon AGM's expertise in building rugged smartphones. Despite its positioning in the lower mid-range niche, the device does not compromise on design. Despite the big battery, it manages to maintain a reasonable weight and thin profile. Compared to other smartphones with a 6.5-6.6-inch display and a 10000 mAh battery, this particular model has the thinnest waistline - 15.65 mm and the lowest weight - 232 g. It is also among the narrowest and shortest models with a width of 79.6 mm and a height of 172.55 mm. The chassis is made of tough polycarbonate - it ensures constructive stability while reducing the overall weight. Key areas have reinforced and wear-resistant metal - the side frames for example. The top and bottom frames, partially the side frames, and all four corners are covered with shock-absorbing TPU adding some more padding for the four corners.

The display casing is made of hard plastic. It protrudes from the surface of the frame and the glass surface of the screen providing additional protection if the device is dropped on a flat surface with the display facing down. A pre-applied glass screen protector also makes sure the display is scratch-free. The bezels are quite manageable measuring 2.3 mm on the sides, 3 mm on the top, and 5 mm on the bottom. The top bezel houses the selfie camera in a wide V-shaped notch. The light and proximity sensors are positioned to the right and the LED notification light is to the left. The earpiece is placed right above the selfie camera on the frame. additional_0.jpg The top frame houses a 3.5 mm headphone jack protected with an insulating cap that's securely attached to the frame with a screw. The bottom frame is the home of the USB Type-C 2.0 port. It also has an insulating cap attached to the frame with a screw. A single microphone is positioned to the left of the port and a single down-firing speaker is placed to its right. The bottom right corner has a lanyard hole. The triple-slot tray is positioned on the left frame, accompanied by a customizable physical button in orange color. The volume rocker and the power button with an embedded fingerprint sensor can be found on the right frame. The device is all black and only the metal parts of the side frames are in dark gray.

The rear shell is curved on all four sides and is made of tough plastic with a fine rhomboid-shaped finish that prevents the device from slipping. Three decorative hexagons with a clean finish house the AGM MObile logo, the CE mark, and the "Designed by AGM" sign. The camera module takes up the top left corner of the rear shell. The main shooter is positioned at the top of the camera island, while the macro lens and the dual LED flash are positioned below it. The entire module has a metal frame in silver color and protruding elements from the rear shell encompass the camera island from all four sides to provide additional protection for the lenses. additional_1.jpg

AGM H Max Display and Battery

The AGM H Max is built around a robust 6.56-inch in-cell IPS display with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1612 px. According to the manufacturer, it has a typical brightness of 400 cd/m². The display also supports up to a 90Hz refresh rate. The Display settings allow you to manually set the refresh rate to 90Hz, 60Hz, or adaptive mode. The usual screen options are also present.

A 10000 mAh battery keeps the lights on. According to AGM, it should provide up to 800 hours of standby time, 36.5 hours of music playback, and 14.5 hours of video playback. The battery supports 10W charging and the USB OTG support, allows you to use the H Max as a power bank to charge smaller devices such as smartphones, headphones, portable fans, lights, etc.

AGM H Max System-on-Chip and Sensors

This smartphone is based on a Unisoc Tiger T606 chipset with around 260,000 points in AnTuTu. Built on TSMC's 12 nm production node, this system-on-chip houses a 1.6 GHz octa-core CPU with two 1.6GHz Cortex-A75 cores and six 1.6GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The graphics department is managed by a single-core Mali-G57 GPU clocked at 650MHz. The chipset is paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM clocked at 1600 MHz. The built-in storage measures 128GB and can be expanded via a dedicated memory card slot.

The hardware-reporting apps mention 35 sensors on board the device. Usually, models based on Unisoc chipsets tend to show an increased number of sensors. The H Max lacks a gyroscope but the rest of the standard set of sensors is present including an accelerometer, magnetic field, light, proximity sensor, gravity, orientation, linear acceleration, rotation vector, significant motion, geomagnetic rotation vector, tilt detector, gestures (wake, glance, pick-up), step detector, step counter, and others. There's a side-mounted fingerprint sensor as well, that works flawlessly. additional_7.jpg

There's also an application called Clear. Its function is to clear all processes from the background just like the "Clear All" function from the Task Manager does.

The smartphone supports Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), and NFC. It provides fast and accurate navigation with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou support. The triple-slot tray allows you to use two Nano-SIM cards and a microSD card simultaneously.
